Crafted in Sweden between 1810 and 1820, this light grey cupboard hides a secret behind its milled panels. Turning the original key in the upper lock reveals an interior of muted turquoise, where two fixed shelves and four small wooden-knobbed drawers wait to hold treasures.
Below, the piece transforms into a sanctuary for the written word. The desk flap opens to a height of 70 cm, uncovering a workspace of eight small drawers fitted with brass pulls and a central compartment. the cabinet remains a marvel of survival—all original hinges, guides, and locks are intact and functional, accompanied by three surviving keys to secure its history.
