An old original Bentwood Box from the late 19th century
A beautiful piece full of history in oval shape with amazing patina and style with traces of age and use
“Svepask” was used since the Stone Age and have been used as storage containers, for example for butter, to pack in for trips and as lunch bag containers. They was often made completely tight and was used also for liquid goods.
This boxes was made by taking a single thin piece of wood, heated and boiled, and then stretched over a mold and sewn together with wood fibers.
